Maritime Week in the Caymans

NAMEPA and WISTA have partnered to sponsor The State of the Marine Environment seminar during Cayman Maritime Week, May 2nd - 4th. 

The seminar is headlined by marine wildlife artist and marine biologist, Dr. Guy Harvey; features special guest, Colin P. Young of IMO Regional Maritime Adviser Caribbean; and will focus on various environmental issues facing the region.  These issues include emissions challenge for shipping, port initiatives, communicating with the public, technological advances, and predicting and monitoring of pollution and other hazards using simulators.

Hemispheric Seminar on CSR & Gender Equality

Panama City, Panama

NAMEPA's Executive Director Carleen Lyden-Kluss will be participating in a panel discussion on Gender Equality in the Maritime Port Sector at the First Hemispheric Seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Gender Equality in the Port Sector being held in Panama City, Panama on April 27th-29th. 

The seminar aims at strengthening socially responsible port operations through the exchange of successful practices and the promotion of strategies and policies on gender equality among the highest authorities of public and private ports, representatives of academia, and decision makers in the maritime industry.

Organized by the Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP) and the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (S/CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS), the event provides an international platform for the dialogue between both public and private entities to promote the instrumentation of sustainable, inclusive, and socially responsible strategic actions.
